1st Day of School

Well, it is official. Our son has started school. It was such a momentous and blessed day. He has been looking forward to this since this past January. So, you can imagine the anticipation that has been building for about 7 months.

Here are some shots of his first day.

This is the look of excitement while getting out of the van.

Here he is going up the stairs. The outside halls are all painted with these colorful murals. You will be seeing them in a few of the backdrops.

Looking up, excited to begin this new journey!

Now here's a somewhat irritated kid whose mom won't stop staying, "smile for another picture."

This is how you enter his hallway to his class. They are starting with a farm theme. He, of course, is loving that.

And here is my baby taking his first steps into a long journey. The little girl in front of him in the denim dress is his best friend. Her name is Samantha.

This is the room where they gather each morning. You can ask him about carpet time and he will tell you (and sing) all the great things they do here. Seriously, they don't waste anytime. As soon as the first 3 or 4 kids get seated on the rug, they begin. Within about 3 to 4 minutes of opening the doors, they begin their welcome song. It really is impressive to watch. No wasted time here! I guess with little ones, you have to keep things moving along. :)

Thanks for looking! I will be sharing updates throughout the year. And just in case you are interested, I have saved all of his work. :) (please no psycho thoughts) I am actually planning to have it all bound into a book at the end of school. I may have to go through and remove a few things or at least make it a manageable size, but for now it all gets kept.
