Ahoy! Land Ahead!

You may not be able to get her by boat.  Pray you can never get here by boat.  :)  But this is a little piece of land that Kevin and I found a little over a year ago.  It sits just a few miles to the West of us.  It is a beautiful rolling piece of land with dips, hills, trees, and a creek.  It is a 10 acre piece of what will soon be heaven on earth for our family.

We officially purchased the land on March 31, 2011.  It was a couple of months of tough negotiation and wait.  But, God was extremely faithful!

Since that time, we have gone out to visit our new investment many times.  We would walk around and dream about what types of things we would do and when.  I never knew owning a piece of undeveloped land would require so much thought, effort, energy, and good old fashion cash.  We were bogged down in the details for months.  Literally!  What should we build?  Who should we get to build?  When should we build?  What is our budget?  Do we want a barn?  What kind of driveway?  Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Here we are looking at the official survey stakes that denote what is ours.  This runs along the front of the property.

This is us surveying what is around.  We were trying to determine what kinds of work we would need to do in order to live out here.  And what could we do little by little once we do.

We have land.  It is ours.  Praise God for the ability to purchase our future.  Without trust in Him, this just simply would not have been possible.  It was a true miracle purchase that will forever stick with me how amazing His provision and timing are.
