Dad On Vacation - Family Week of Fun

This entire week Kevin has been home with us. It has been a long haul since his last day off. He worked 64 straight days. And most of those days he was at the hospital until 7:30pm or as late as midnight. He had as many days off this past week as he did from June 1st until October 5th. So, when I say dad was home, it has a HUGE meaning behind it. We were able to get caught up on some much needed family time. Kevin has never seen our son's class, so Matthew was so EXCITED for dad to take him to school. Matthew made it very clear to me that it was only dad and they would be going in his truck. In the 7 days Kevin was at home, we hardly did anything productive. It was literally spent playing with the kids and being together. Funny how a simple thing such as just being together is such a big deal to us. Trust me when I say that we don't take it lightly when we get to do things as a family.

I wanted to share some photos of our animal-less trip to the zoo. We went to the zoo on Friday and did not see a single animal. Seriously!!! We walked straight to the food court and had lunch. On our way to the giraffes, Matthew asked to play at the park. We spent so much time playing that we just left after that. Honestly, we didn't see a single animal in our 2 to 3 hours at the zoo.
